It’s a story of seizing opportunities to branch into specialised activities as these presented. Today, the company has three distinct divisions; Presco Hire, Presco Prenail and Presco Environmental. Presco Prenail, based in Hawera and the newest of the Presco divisions, manufactures pre-nailed frames and trusses for residential builds and services the lower North Island. Presco Environmental, also based in Hawera, services and maintains the hygiene requirements of the food manufacturing sector. They employ a team of highly trained service technicians and focus on taking a preventative approach to hygiene. Their team of technicians currently services the lower and central North Island and they supply products all over the country. The Prenail division has recently moved into new premises in Hawera and is soon to expand its operational efficiencies with the purchase of an Optimising Saw. “It minimises timber waste and enables each piece of timber to be labelled so that the frames and trusses can be assembled along our automated line seamlessly,” says Steve.
