The construction firm claimed top honours in the Excellence in the Maintenance and Management of Assets category for its work on the Hastings District Council (HDC) 3 Waters Maintenance Contract, while also receiving highly commended in the projects with a value between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000 category for the Lowes Pit Stormwater Improvements project. “These awards represent the culmination of exceptional teamwork, innovative problem solving and a genuine commitment to community outcomes,” says Leslie Van Heerden, divisional manager - Hawke’s Bay 3 Waters. “What makes these achievements particularly special is how they showcase our ability to deliver excellence across both ongoing maintenance contracts and specific environmental improvement projects.” The judges highlighted Fulton Hogan’s performance on the 3 Waters contract, noting the company had “overcome a challenging start to reach a high standard of delivery” through “good planning, hard work and an ethos of wanting to get better”. The award-winning contract, which began in March 2021, encompasses comprehensive maintenance for water, wastewater and stormwater systems throughout the Hastings district.
