Plumbing • Drainlaying • Gasfitting Deb’s business acumen as well as many years working in banking and insurance businesses prior to Latitude Homes has give her financial expertise and construction industry experience resulting in an extensive range of knowledge that her customers rely upon when building their own home. From cost control through to interior design Deb’s practical approach is a valuable asset, particularly as she has been involved in the design and construction of two of her own homes. Latitude Homes Hawke’s Bay builds throughout this region and sells kitset product to the areas out of reach of its usual subcontractors, for example Gisborne. “Our core values have always been around providing New Zealanders with good quality, good workmanship, and affordable prices. We achieve this by always providing great products through nationwide supply deals,” says Deb. People generally arrive with their own land and Deb says Latitude Homes Hawke’s Bay can also assist with questions people might have when purchasing a section and help them to discover how to make the most of their land and budget. A great place for people to start for ideas is the showhome and office in Mahora, Hastings. The 233sqm, four bedroom, two bathroom, two living area home is designed and built to Latitude Homes’ standard specifications, so people know exactly what they will get. “Our showhome has plenty of room to grow in and to entertain from. It has a really nice feel to it,” says Deb adding that a lot of people love the second lounge, which is great for kids to have their own space. Deb is currently in the process of building a brand new showhome due to open in early 2023. Clad in Linea and Stria, the 214sqm home will be based on the Cook plan and comprise four bedrooms and two living areas. It will showcase all the latest products. The recent building boom and supply shortages means relationships with subcontractors and suppliers that Deb has built up over many years are even more important. A helping hand is the fact that her son Matt, who owns a building company called Built Solid Ltd, contracts to Latitude Homes Hawke’s Bay meaning superior timing and quality of projects. “You need good subcontractors who can handle the workload when you get busy,” she says. “They can handle it while you’re ticking along, but when you get busy you are asking a lot more of your subcontractors. Our suppliers are also important and have helped us to secure the products we need to keep our customer’s home builds progressing nicely.” Latitude Homes Hawke’s Bay builds all sizes and types of homes and a snapshot of recent and current projects is a good indication. At the moment Latitude Homes Hawke’s Bay are building a range of houses from a small 60m2 to a large 283m2 home in Eskridge. “We build throughout the Hastings/Napier and Central Hawke’s Bay areas either in the towns or in rural areas. We are also available to build in Dannevirke but that’s about as far south as we could stretch.” Deb’s philosophy towards life is simple: what you put in is what you get out. This is displayed in her commitment to her customers as they embark on the journey of building their dream home. “So if you’re thinking about building come and see us. We’d love to help.” “Our core values have always been around providing New Zealanders with good quality, good workmanship, and affordable prices.”
