It will act as the New Zealand distribution centre for spare parts and will assemble and take care of quality control for all products coming into New Zealand. “We not only have stock held in New Zealand but access to stock in Australia as well with over 100,000 line items electronically linked and spread across the Australasian warehouses. This ensures our customers receive a speedy supply of parts,” says Brett. Due for completion at the end of this year or early next year, the facility sits alongside the signi icant investment Power Farming made a few years ago when it built a state of the art retail dealership next to its national wholesale headquarters and tripled the size of its workshop next door. “The new retail facility means an enhanced customer experience,” says Brett. “Power Farming began over 70 years ago and the experiences of our dealerships and their customers around New Zealand were harnessed to create this new facility. We now have even better facilities for repairs and servicing. It’s also meant a great, safe and e icient working environment, allowing us to attract the best people to the business.” Power Farming has built its business on a dedication to helping Kiwi farmers to grow their businesses by farming smarter. With a vast array of new and used machinery and equipment, the Power Farming team knows how to help farmers to get the best out of their operation. Power Farming represents top brands such as Deutz-Fahr, Kverneland, JCB Construction, McHale, Kioti, Maschio, Merlo and Fliegl. Services include on farm servicing, routine maintenance, welding, electrical repairs, air conditioning servicing and diagnostics. Demand for Power Farming’s services has increased due to the strength of the agricultural market and global demand for commodities. Power Farming has seen signi icant growth over recent years, and with the signi icant investment we are continuing to put in throughtout the country, we’re forecasting it will continue. A brand new purppose built faciltiy in Te Awamutu is one example of how we facilitate that future growth. Construction is due to get underway soon with completion expected to be in the third quarter of next year.” He says Power Farming is always looking for great people to join its team. It o ers a training facility in Morrinsville including apprentice mechanic schemes. There is also a strong focus on promoting from within. “Power Farming has an aspiration to be the employer of choice and attract good people and we do this by looking after our team. Our sta members are part of the Power Farming family and we spend a lot of time understanding what they want to achieve in their careers so they can progress. For example we have sta that started as apprentice mechanics and are now running branches and sales reps who have moved on to become product managers.” While Power Farming hasn't been immune to global supply chain disruptions Brett says being part of a larger group has minimised these for customers. “We are a major partner and have well established relationships with key suppliers which helps. We also spend a lot of time with suppliers, understanding where their pressure points are, so we can forecast and allow for that.” He says Morrinsville has always been a service town to the rural sector and it’s growing as new people move to the region driven by cost of living and attracted by lower house prices compared with larger centres. He says being close to Hamilton and the coast has seen numerous subdivisions spring up to cater to demand. “Power Farming started in the heart of Morrinsville and it’s great to see our business here going from strength to strength, helping the local community and farmers to thrive.”
