Aurora is a 1200-lot master planned subdivision located in Hamilton’s newest suburb, Peacocke. The multi-stage development has been seven years in the making in collaboration with a range of leading consultancies and project partners. Sections are being sold to both the general public and build partners. Aurora’s head of sales Karl Finn says there is huge demand for homes in quality, well designed subdivisions within Hamilton at present. “We are one of the fastest developing cities in the country, with significant growth seen in recent years thanks to affordable living costs, thriving local businesses and our broad appeal to young families. “Aurora is a great place for growth and opportunity and savvy purchasers are seeing it as a good place to position themselves to capitalise on the investment and growth projected within the area.” Aurora is one of the first large-scale subdivisions constructed in the Peacocke growth cell. Planning for Peacocke has been under way for more than 10 years. When the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund was announced in 2016, Hamilton City Council secured a $290.4 million funding package to help provide strategic infrastructure to the area. This was made up of $180.3 million 10-year interest-free loan and $110.1 million of Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency subsidies. When completed Peacocke will be home to around 20,000 people. Proposed new roading and infrastructure in Peacocke will provide residents in Aurora connectivity to the CBD, Waikato University, Innovation Park, the Ruakura Inland Port, and the Hamilton Airport. “We have worked alongside Hamilton City for the past three to four years to help facilitate and integrate key infrastructure and to ensure our respective projects are aligned,” says Tristan. “Hamilton City has been great to work with and it’s exciting to see so much energy and activity in one area.” Proud to be involved with Jones Group & the Aurora Development.
