Sky Windows – Superior range, top performance With its superior range of aluminium joinery, Sky Window Construction is bringing top performing insulation and security to customers in the greater Wellington region and beyond. Sky Windows sales consultant Zac Gray says the European designed joinery suites o ered by Sky Windows are far superior when compared to New Zealand designed joinery. “That’s what we’re introducing to the New Zealand market - something that is built to last and allows di erent types of glazing, with strong frames that aren’t going to separate or stop sealing, supplying both residential and commercial customers.” Sky Windows’ primary product is its Thermal Series of thermally broken, high performance aluminium joinery. This series has a thermal bar inserted in it which separates warm and cold much like double glazed glass does, this also gives customers the bene it allowing for di erent colours on the outside and the inside of the frame. It features a special internal gusset system which is pressed together then injected with a special resin that gives it immense strength making it virtually indestructible. This system gives the advantage of absolutely no screw ixings holding the joints together, meaning no possibility of unnecessary leaks forming. The Thermal Series features a triple seal system with an inner seal, an outer seal, and a mid-seal, allowing for virtually no air iltration through the openings. Its thermal properties are substantially increased giving better insulation, and an immense decrease in condensation forming on the aluminium for drier, healthier homes and buildings. “Other companies throughout New Zealand are typically o ering non thermally broken windows, unless it is stated on plans or at a clients request for thermally broken, that’s where we have come into the market to provide a premium option from the get-go. The Government has updated the Building Code with higher standards of window insulation. From the end of 2023, window and door joinery in new builds will require a minimum R value of 0.46 and even 0.50 in our coldest climate zones. Our windows are already performing at a minimum R value of 0.53 with double glazing, this can have higher performance with alternative glass solutions pushing for a higher R value, which is high enough to supply anywhere in New Zealand.” Sky Windows’ multi-point locking system is another point of di erence which brings superior insulation properties and security to its joinery suites. All window stays are made with stainless steel and have adjustable tensioning to make windows easier or harder to open, and a single lever action handle per window with fully enclosed mechanisms for a four-point locking system. Sky Windows’ CodeMark product certi ication is an unchallengeable form of product assurance. CodeMark is a voluntary product certi ication scheme that provides an easily understood and robust way to show a building product meets the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code. Sky Windows also o ers a 10-year warranty on all products, and its product range complies with New Zealand and Australian building standards and codes. “We are continuously researching and developing our products to have improved performance.” Sky Windows is working with glass suppliers to bring more glass technology to the New Zealand market. A future product of interest is vacuum insulated glass, where two pieces of glass are vacuumed together for superior insulation and thermal performance. “An R value of more than 1 has been achieved with this product. For glass to be insulating at this level is quite incredible. We want to work closely with more glass technology that will not only help in New Zealand but will also help worldwide.” ∙ Commercial & Residential Thermally Broken Aluminium Joinery ∙ Low E & Toughened Glass ∙ Double, Triple & Laminate Glazing ∙ Single Lever Action Handles w/ Enclosed Mechanisms ∙ European Design ∙ Multipoint Locking ∙ Glass Balustrades 04 260 3779 www.skywindows.co.nz 28 Sydney Street, Petone, Wellington
