Family-owned company SHP Developments has built its reputation by offering quality, reliability and efficiency to its ever-growing list of clientele. “Most of our clients are repeat and that’s our biggest accolade as it speaks volumes about how we are really delivering a service they value,” says operations manager Simon McKinley. Simon started SHP Developments with nothing but a Ute, a small digger, and a hefty dose of commitment to quality craftsmanship. His vision was to craft a better future for his young boys and the SHP crew. What began as a one-man operation has blossomed into a dynamic team of skilled professionals, including two apprentices. “We like to pass on knowledge and upskill people, that’s why training apprentices is important,” Simon explains. “We’re a good team and all work in with each other.” The company’s growth mirrors the increasing demand for its services. SHP Developments has expanded its reach beyond Hawke’s Bay, taking on projects in Auckland, Hamilton, and other regions. Its portfolio spans a diverse range of projects, from residential drainage to large-scale civil works. “We work on projects worth hundreds up to millions of dollars,” says Simon. “At the moment, we’ve just finished a block of 12 units with Rouse Construction in Hamilton, and we’re about to finish another block of 12 with PGC Constructors in Napier.” The company’s expertise extends beyond drainage. It offers comprehensive services including septic tank installations, water tank setups and earthworks. This diversification has allowed SHP Developments to adapt to market demands and provide holistic solutions for its clients. Simon says the company’s reputation has been built on quality and customer satisfaction: “We’re reliable and stand behind our work. Most of our customers are repeat customers, and we focus on building long-term relationships.” These relationships span various sectors of the construction industry. SHP Developments works with developers, housing companies such as David Reid Homes, social housing providers, private developers, and subcontracts to other construction and plumbing companies. The company’s success is built on a foundation of family values and local roots. Simon, along with his brother Liam and father Shaun, own and operate the business. Shaun, with his background in trucking, provides business acumen, while Liam, a teacher by trade, manages the administrative side. “We’re born and bred in Hawke’s Bay,” Simon proudly states. “As proud Hawke’s Bay locals, we’re all about delivering top-notch results and top-tier service from start to finish.” The company’s commitment extends beREGIONAL DEVELOPMENT SHP Developments PROUD TO SUPPORT SHP DEVELOPMENTS 33 Wake eld Street, Onekawa, Napier Call our friendly team at our Napier Branch 06 280 5487 Proud to support SHP Developments Your Local, Dependable Rural Contractor www.awakeridrainage.co.nz | 06 878 7567 | sales@awakeri.co.nz DRAINAGE, AGGREGATES, EARTHMOVING, CARTAGE, ORCHARD RECYCLING, FORESTRY ROADING yond their business operations.
