For over 30 years, BJW Motors 2022 Ltd has been the Rangitikei region’s trusted name in motor vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs. The Marton-based business, established by a group of three business partners in 1993, has become synonymous with quality – so much so that last year, the workshop space was doubled to accommodate the needs of its loyal customer base. BJW Motors specialises in WOF, motor vehicle servicing, parts, and mechanical repairs on all makes and models of vehicles, and is an authorised Holden Parts & Service Dealer. The business has grown over the last three decades to support a large area of the Rangitikei region, from Marton through to Taihape and Feilding. Of the original three business partners, two remain: Nigel Belsham and Glenn Jongen. A third shareholder, Shane Whitaker, came on board three years ago to address the business’ succession planning. Nigel and wife Leighann take care of the administration side of the business, while four automotive technicians are on the floor. In November 2023, BJW Motors expanded its workshop premises to include five new workshop bays, in addition to the original five bays. “The new workshop doubled the capacity we had originally,” Nigel says. “It has resulted in a huge change in the work environment; it is a far better place for staff to work. We also invested in new and modern equipment such as hoists and diagnostic equipment to ensure our service remains at the front of the industry.” Nigel says a strong element of the business is the maintenance, WOF and service of classic vehicles. “We are passionate about classic cars,” he says. “As the owner of a classic car – as is Shane – we are heavily involved in that side of the industry.” Despite its broad client base, across all makes and models of vehicles, BJW Motors is proud to have been an authorised Holden Parts & Service Dealer since its establishment. With the cessation of the sale of Holden vehicles on the New Zealand market, BJW ensured its connection with the General Motors brand stayed strong; in 2023, BJW Motors rebranded as an ACDelco Service Centre, the aftermarket side of the General Motors NZ business. BJW Motors is also supported by BNT. “BNT is a large supplier of ours – it supplies a lot of aftermarket products such as suspension parts,” Nigel says. “Working with both General Motors and BNT is very complementary to our business.” Nigel says BJW Motors’ loyal client base is at the heart of the business. “We wouldn’t be the strength of business we are today without the support of our customers,” he says. “We have a strong and loyal clientele. We find, particularly in a smaller rural community, that word-of-mouth advertising is very important. “When new people shift into the area and they are told by the locals to come and see us, it’s evidence that a reputation for quality is everything.” BJW Motors Ltd AUTOMOTIVE NEW ZEALAND CERAMIC BRAKE PADS THE TRADESNo.1 CHOICE BNT Wanganui is proud to support BJW Motors Ltd with 06 345 65801A WILSON STREET, WANGANUI, MANAWATU - WANGANUI 4500
