A career move has resulted in great outcomes for Chris Bell who, 18 years ago, decided to leave his project management role to start his own business. Chris borrowed his mother’s car and began working on a small renovation for family. What started as a modest venture has grown into a thriving business employing over 45 staff and numerous contractors at its peak. Now, under the brand name Chris Bell Construction (CBC), he has a portfolio of projects that not only showcase a passion for building, but a desire to embrace all aspects of the construction sector. Since those earlier days, CBC has delivered excellence, diversity, and innovation across New Zealand’s construction industry. Over the last two months alone, CBC has completed an impressive range of projects, which highlight its versatility and commitment to quality. These projects range from a 44-bedroom apartment building to high-end architectural homes, industrial projects such as substations, small jobbing works, renovations, and several commercial warehouses ranging from 2800 to 4000 square metres. The company has left its mark throughout the North Island, with projects in places such as Russell, Hastings, Whanganui, Palmerston North, and Tauranga.
