Lee Builders specialises in major and minor commercial capital works, preventative and corrective maintenance, and painting and decorating, as well as sourcing and managing subcontractors like electricians and plumbers, to provide a complete end-to-end service. Their client list including Palmerston North City Council (PNCC), New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF), Fonterra, Ministry of Education, and MetlifeCare. The company was purchased by its current owners in 2011, and since then has built on strong working relationships with their key corporate clients throughout the Manawatu region, ensuring the focus remained on producing quality, not quantity. Recently Lee Builders partnered with the PNCC to undertake construction of the new state-of-the-art Palmerston North animal shelter. “This project is our biggest undertaking to date, and we are excited by this opportunity to deliver a unique building, built to the latest animal welfare requirements and one which will service Palmerston North for decades,” managing director Jared Kenyon said. The project involves the construction and provision of utility services for an admin block with reception area, meeting room, staff office, and changing room, an isolated kennel with eight rooms for animals, an assessment room, a kitchen and store, and a chemical store and dog wash area. It also includes a dangerous dog kennel with 11 rooms for dangerous dogs and exercise areas, a kitchen and a laundry, two typical kennels with 12 rooms for general dogs and exercise areas. Lee Builders is also overseeing landscaping, carparking and other miscellaneous works, and the project is due to be completed by the end of this year. The company has also been working with the NZDF for the past ten years, providing maintenance services and delivering capital projects for the repair, maintenance, refurbishment and development of buildings at the Linton and Waiouru Military Camps, and Ohakea Air Base.
