The moulded fibre trays are specifically designed to protect fruit during packing, storage, and shipping processes. With nearly 20 years of expertise, Hawk has developed specialised ‘recipes’ to ensure its products can withstand various temperature and humidity environments without compromising fruit protection. Sam says that technology is at the heart of Hawk’s operations. Advanced controls and automation ensure consistent product quality, allowing the company to meet the exacting standards of the horticulture industry. “The majority of our customers have one chance a year to make some money. The technology we use enables Hawk to supply our customers with a tray that will deliver their fruit anywhere in the world to the highest standards,” says Sam. Hawk’s commitment to quality is further underscored by its numerous certifications, including ISO9001, ISO45001, FSSC 22000 (GFSI) and FSC Certification. These ensure that Hawk’s customers receive quality-assured products every time, a crucial factor in the competitive global fruit market, says Sam. The company has developed a comprehensive suite of services to support its horticulture clients. Its Virtual Inventory Management (VIM) stock management system helps clients manage inventory efficiently. “It is our job to help clients manage stocks to keep their business running smoothly. By having a complete live view of stockholdings and product usage we can tailor regular replenishment orders to suit client needs,” Sam explains. Hawk also offers a unique consignment model, where customers only pay for stock once it’s scanned for use. This system ensures stock availability, aids cash flow, and allows for real-time adjustments based on changing pack plans or volumes. Hawk Technology complements the packaging business and focuses on developing robotic packing solutions for post harvest horticulture. “From design to installation, it offers cutting-edge solutions to maximise packhouse efficiencies and outputs for our customers worldwide,” says Sam. T T from page 11 He says the company continues to innovate and have big plans: “We are looking forward to diversifying and heading into new markets outside horticulture. We are open to anything as we can make our own tooling. If a customer requires a solution we can deliver.”
