T T Sue Russell Mike Treadwell has had years in the pool build and installation sector prior to purchasing Narellan Pools Hawkes Bay . He says he was drawn to the brand because of all the benefits customers gain from a quality made fibreglass pool. “I established Narellan Pools Hawkes Bay in 2018, so we’ve been in this region trading for over twelve years now. Their products specifications were much higher than other options and I thought taking up the business would be a positive move. It certainly turned out that was the case,” Mike explains. So much so, that in 2022, Narellan Pools Hawkes Bay were Australia’s biggest seller of pools, at a whopping 110 pools in the space of one year. He says this is a testament to the quality of the pool, spa and splash deck range they sold and to the team he’s gathered around him. Mike can’t speak highly enough of the quality of Narellan Pools, manufactured in Hamilton and distributed all over New Zealand and into Australia. “Hamilton’s factory has state-of-the-art equipment and controlled room temperatures to assist the curing process as there is a mould facility now that produces highly accurate moulds that are also exported to Australia,” says Mike. Having had so many years in the sector Mike says what he has noticed about Narellan Pools is the quality of the construction process, the finishing and get coating applied, which eliminates algae and makes pool maintenance very easy. Swimming pools come in 10 different layouts and options include the in ground and above ground models, perfect Mike says, when the site is sloping. “We don’t only just put in the pool, but complete the surrounds with decking and undertake landscaping to the clients wishes. I can tell you that it’s a pretty exciting day when a pool arrives on site. Sometimes the kids take the day off school to see it installed!” Asked how long the process takes from the initial viewing of the site and discussing pool options, to gaining council consent and installed, Mike says, its usually about two months. When sites are challenging to access, he’s been known to organise delivery of the pool by helicopter. “We’ve had years of experience now and can deal with just about any situation to settle a pool in.” Working with Mike is a team of 8 technicians, earthmovers and installers. This recognition extends back to 2019, and since that time, Narellan Pools Hawkes Bay has been recognised with an award every year, culmination this year in the ‘Best Panama – Gold Winner’ award.
