T T Kim Newth John and Jacque Patterson, who own and operate Narellan Pools Waikato, had plenty to celebrate at this year’s Narellan Pools 2024 conference in Cairns. Jacque was stunned to win the brand’s Woman of the Year title for the second time, having previously won the same prestigious award in 2017. “One of our staff members, Sheena Thompson, also won the New Zealand excellence in administration award,” says Jacque. “She’s an immensely hard worker and so passionate about customer service. We’re very proud of her. Winning top awards like these is a wonderful acknowledgement.” Narellan Pools is one of New Zealand’s most loved swimming pool brands. As the owners of Narellan Pools’ oldest and longest running franchise in New Zealand, John and Jacque are respected role models for the brand. Jacque’s personal success in the industry owes much to her dedication to excellence in client communication. She and John also do a lot of work behind the scenes to support and mentor other franchisees. As well, Jacque enjoys contributing to the wider industry through her advisory work for Standards NZ and she has also served on the board of directors for the Spa and Pool Association (SPASA). “John and I have been in this industry now for 20 years and we’re both really passionate about delivering the best results. My work for Standards NZ is all about trying to raise the level of integrity or professionalism in our industry to make sure end consumers get a good service.” Narellan Pools Waikato is a leader on quality service. Before joining the pool industry, John ran his own plumbing and earthmoving business for over 25 years. John and Jacque have an excellent team working with them too, who share their commitment to going the extra mile for clients so the whole experience of getting a pool is a pleasure. “For most families, buying a pool is a once in a lifetime investment. She hopes to inspire more women into leadership roles in the industry. “It is exciting to see how many more women are now entering the industry. There are a lot of husband and wife business owners where the wife is just as involved as her husband and some of the Narellan franchises are now purely owned and operated by women.
