94 | CONTRACTING RoofClad Focus on quality roofing and cladding RoofClad has become a trusted name in delivering durable results for homeowners. T T Kim Newth Daniel Parr’s passion for the roofing industry started some 20 years ago while he was living in Australia. Upon returning to New Zealand in 2006, he launched RoofClad to provide professional roofing, re-roofing and cladding services tailored specifically for the unique demands of the Wellington region. Combining top-quality products with extensive experience, RoofClad has become a trusted name in delivering durable results for homeowners, commercial property owners, builders and developers alike. A commitment to training and safety Led by Daniel and his wife, Renee, RoofClad boasts a skilled team of installers, supported by a dedicated full-time delivery driver and an experienced sales and administration team. Daniel is particularly passionate about training the next generation, currently mentoring two apprentices. “I enjoy helping the young guys and showing them the ropes,” he says. “It’s rewarding to guide them through their training.” As a member of Site Safe NZ and a licensed roofing contractor, RoofClad prioritises safety and efficiency on every job. Equipped with professional scaffolding and edge protection systems, they adhere to high safety standards while delivering exceptional results. Diverse services and local expertise RoofClad’s core services encompass re-roofing, new roofing and wall cladding, utilising products such as Espan, Traffigard, Butynol and Torch On membranes. Given Wellington’s frequently windy and wet weather, the company specialises in exterior cladding solutions that enhance the durability and performance of buildings. “We have extensive local experience that allows us to work effectively on steep sites and pitches,” Daniel explains. “We can advise builders or homeowners on the best options available for their specific needs.” The team uses durable materials designed for New Zealand’s conditions, including ColorSteel and ColorCote long-run steel, as well as Gerard tiles. Recently, they have begun using ColorSteel Maxam, a new product known for its exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, and they have been impressed with its performance so far. Enhancing aesthetics and property value High-quality roofing and cladding not only improve a building’s watertightness and structural integrity but also significantly enhance its visual appeal and street presence. RoofClad has extensive experience working on largescale projects, delivering roofing and cladding services for some of Wellington’s major property developers, including Gillies Group, Gibbons Co and Faisandier Group. Recent projects include providing roofing and cladding services for a Kapiti development consisting of 78 units, undertaken in collaboration with Gibbons Co. Another notable project was the roofing and cladding installation for the new Tesla dealership and service centre in Wellington. RoofClad has also established a strong track record with Gillies Group, previously installing roofing for hundreds of townhouses at Upper Hutt’s Wallaceville Estate. In Kelburn, Wellington, RoofClad contributed to Gibbons Co’s luxury townhouse development at 36 Central Terrace. “We managed the roofing and some cladding there. The views were stunning, but accessing the site was challenging – we had to transport materials on foot!” The team also installed quality Espan products for roofing and cladding on a subdivision project in Stokes Valley (Raukawa Street). Meanwhile, RoofClad is engaged in another 13-unit project that includes upper-level cladding, all under a tight timeframe.
