Company managing director Warren Smith says the company has forged its reputation on providing a compre- hensive service to clients in the region. “We are a professional one-stop-shop for all trade building services in the Hawke’s Bay from new home builds to renovations,” he says. The company was started by builder and painter Warren and business partner builder Tom Robinson. The pair met working on a project together and realised they shared a passion for quality workmanship. Seeing a niche in the market for a professional building and renovation company that put clients first they started their business. Both bring considerable experience to cli- ents’ projects. Tom’s background and passion lies in building and joinery and as a Licensed Building Practitioner who has been building for around 15 years, he’s as comfortable tak- ing on a new build from plans to completion, as he is at renovating a period property and installing a bespoke top of the line kitchen. Warren previously owned Trim and Tidy, a painting and property maintenance business in Hawke’s Bay and has been renovating, painting and decorating properties for the over a decade. He also used to run a company which designed, made and installed kitchens, and for three years worked with a building company who specialised in commercial shop fitouts. All building needs covered THS takes on both small and large jobs and other services include kitchen and bathroom renovations, painting and interior decorat- ing, landscaping and electrical and plumbing projects. New homes are also undertaken and house and land packages offered through sister company Advance Construction. Warren says that THS has an open and honest approach to working with clients, over- seeing all aspects of the project to guarantee the best results and the project comes in on budget. It’s a personal service. Tom and Warren are always available to communicate with clients ensuring any changes, concerns or queries are swiftly acted upon. The company employs its own team of builders and painters and uses the services of trusted subcontractors as required. Training apprentices is also part of the mix to give back to the industry and also to ensure a steady stream of talented workers. “We have sought to develop a great com- pany culture and find that people generally stay with THS long term, which has given us a skilled and stable team.” Warren says that due to low interest rates and people not being able to travel overseas the market has been busy in Hawke’s Bay with people looking to renovate their homes. This has meant that 2021 looks busy with a range of projects underway including reno- vations, a new deck and an earthquake repair job.
