Founded by Richard Cable, a licensed building practitioner (LBP) with more than 25 years of combined building and aluminium experience, the company now employs 16 staff and supplies the full OMEGA Windows and Doors range across Whanganui, Hāwera, Ohakune, Taihape, Waiouru and Ruapehu. “Our competitive advantage is that I am a licensed building practitioner and we also employ LBP installers. This means we understand how doors and windows integrate into the wider build,” explains Richard. “It allows us to solve problems quickly and offer practical expertise on every project. We have a vast knowledge of the building sector and we offer a comprehensive installation service.” The company’s service offering spans the full lifecycle of aluminium joinery supply and installation. This includes new residential and commercial joinery, replacement windows and doors, conservatories, double-glazing upgrades, balustrades, sliding and stacking systems, ranch sliders, French doors, bi-folds, skylights and custom architectural work. Rivercity Building and Aluminium works exclusively with OMEGA products, which are New Zealand-made and designed to cope with local climate demands. The new showroom, located at 7 Wilson Street, Whanganui, opened after an expansion of the company’s production footprint. The development included extending manufacturing space and adding new offices. The showroom allows the public to explore the full OMEGA range, including sliding and stacking doors, bi-folds, thermally broken systems, hardware options and glass samples. “People can come in and see how the products operate before they make decisions,” says Richard. “It helps them visualise what will work in their home and understand the level of quality.” Energy efficiency continues to be a key driver for customers, and retrofit double glazing remains one of the company’s fastest-growing services, says Richard. “This allows homeowners to retain their existing aluminium frames while upgrading from single to double glazing, improving warmth and comfort without the cost of full replacement. We also provide aluminium insert windows for homes with timber joinery, a solution that maintains character as well as lifting performance.” The company’s installation teams also support architects, builders and project managers with technical advice, site measure services, replacement planning and custom-made solutions for complex builds. Its mobile service teams cover the entire lower central North Island region it supplies, offering on-site consultation and aftercare. For over 10 years, Rivercity Building and Aluminium has delivered a variety of projects. Recently, these have included joinery for the Avenue Hotel redevelopment in Whanganui, which required tailored solutions following extensive fire damage, along with numerous residential projects. As it progresses beyond its first decade, Richard says the company remains focused on service, quality and practical expertise. “From design through to installation, we’re with customers at every stage. The new showroom provides an extension of that, giving people a clearer, more hands-on way to plan their projects and make choices with confidence.” ELEVATE YOUR SPACE Phone: 06-348 7063 Website: rivercityaluminium.co.nz ◆ AluminiumWindows & Doors ◆ Residential & Commercial ◆ Retrofit Double Glazing ◆ Conservatories & Balustrades ◆ Bespoke Architectural Joinery GET A FREE QUOTE
