Landmark Homes - Manawatu/Wanganui T Karen Phelps BUILDING Manawatu-Wanganui continues to go from strength to strength resulting in a vast increase in new home construction across the entire region, says one of Landmark Homes Manawa-Wanganui’s directors Aaron Shirriffs. “Ease of living and work/life balance, and also the comparative cost and accessibility as opposed to the bigger cities, means we’ve seen no reduction in the number of people identifying that the Manawatu/Wanganui/ Horowhenua areas are of great appeal,” he says. “This is even reaching out into the smaller previously sparsely populated village areas as we now live in a world where remote working and information accessibility are not a problem.” Aaron says that the supply of high quality well-built homes is something that Landmark Homes Manawatu-Wanganui is completely geared up to do. “We pride ourselves on providing a service above and beyond from the sales and selections process through to the construction and operations side of things. We incorporate numerous finely tuned systems to make sure that everything runs as well as it feasibly can, plus also keep our clients updated throughout the build journey.” While the demand is definitely still there for product, Aaron says that supply chain issues have understandably been a headache for the last couple of years as it has been for the whole building industry. “Fortunately for us, due to the initial pandemic upheaval, we had undertaken a full audit and update of every facet of our business systems including forward ordering and advance project quantity forecasting. This has put us in good stead for the current supply issues. We can also now see a glimmer of hope on the horizon, as the exponential cost/timeframe increases seem to be starting to soften to a degree.” Landmark Homes Manawatu-Wanganui directors Aaron Shirriffs and Ryan Coombes established the business in 2014. The pair brings a lot of industry experience, which has seen significant growth for the franchise. Aaron, who has been involved with the contracting and projects industry in the Manawatu for his entire working career, ensures that the processes are in place so clients are communicated with and given the best service possible. As the company pricing and operations manager, Ryan makes sure that the build process is as seamless as possible for clients and with levels of quality control kept to the highest standard. “The entire team works closely on each build from the design brief through to the completed home and beyond. This ensures that clients not only enjoy the design and build process, but also find full satisfaction once they start enjoying their new home,” explains Aaron Landmark Manawatu-Wanganui offers three distinct products – design and build, house and land packages and a collection of more than 90 ready-to-build plans. Aaron says the ready-to-build plan collection offers a good starting point and they can be used as a source of inspiration to result in the desired home. “The fluidity of the ready-to-build design process allows the customer to put their own stamp on their chosen design, be it using a different cladding or adding another bathroom,” explains Aaron.
