She’s the president of the Stata Community Association of New Zealand that represents body corporate management companies. “Our team works with the body corporate chair and community of owners to maintain the assets of the body corporate, making sure levies are collected, common areas are maintained and managing issues as they come up.” Christian says it has been a tough environment for landlords over the past few years, dealing with the many regulatory and legislative requirements. Constraints are now loosening on the sector under the new government. Regardless, Christian says Oxygen remains firmly focussed on making life better for both tenants and landlords. For us, people come first.” Oxygen also uses a Net Promotor Score to track the experience of their owners and tenants, making sure to deal with any issues as soon as they arise. As Christian observes, Oxygen would have had no difficulty meeting recently proposed regulations on property management had they been implemented, as their staff are already properly trained and qualified. “We are also part of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) and follow that code of conduct.” For landlords and potential investors, having a good understanding of rental market dynamics is crucial.
