The 90-year-old company has a team of 110 based in Stratford, New Plymouth and Hawera, offering a range of construction management and maintenance services to the region. Courtney says the highly skilled team works on a range of projects from complex civil for the oil and gas industry to road building, pavements, sealing and Three Waters – everything from source to outfall including renewals, water mains, stormwater and wastewater. In the past 12 months Fulton Hogan Taranaki has undergone quite a bit of change, estab- “We have invested a lot of effort into building a high performing culture and making Fulton Hogan Taranaki a great place to work where people are valued...” T T to page 22 lishing new capabilities building on traditional areas including earthworks, pavement and sealing. Courtney says the changes have been well received by clients: “It means we can really work end-to-end on a lot of different projects rather than only doing specific aspects – although of course we can still do that too if that’s what the client requires. We have a multidisciplinary team and can regularly self-deliver complete projects in their entirety.” She cites the company’s strong team of project managers and engineers’ ability to support projects in challenging environments or sensitive tasks that have critical safety, environmental or stakeholder aspects. Courtney says the team takes great pride in helping deliver projects that add value to the lives of locals. It is presently working on the construction of the State Highway 3/Princess Street roundabout and pedestrian and cyclist underpass in Waitara, partnering with Waka Kotahi and mana whenua and building connections with the community and road users. The project aims to help reduce deaths and serious injuries on the busy section of highway and also includes median barrier and other safety improvements. The team is also currently doing work at Inglewood Pond, building retaining walls for Waka Kotahi at Tahora and working for Todd Energy at Mangahewa assisting with infrastructure involving mostly civil work and some earthworks and road building for plant foundations.
