Venture Build BUILDING A new business in Whanganui combines the expertise of its three differently experienced directors and puts it to work for clients who are looking to unlock the value in their land with high quality, affordable new housing. Venture Build specialises in subdividing and building infill housing. Director and infill lead Simon Aitken has been investing in property in Whanganui for the past 20 years. He has project managed 10 of his own subdivision projects including standalone and duplex infill townhouses, and has seen the increased capacity and efficiencies that come with a quality build and project management team. He found this while working on his projects with the men who would become his co-directors. Director and client manager Adam Tipper worked for high-end clients in the UK for five years before returning home to New Zealand and gaining a further two years experience managing renovations, new builds, and architectural builds in Whanganui. Director and build manager Peter Czerwonka is the builder of the partnership, and he has proven his worth on Simon’s projects for high quality workmanship and great relationships with local subtrades. LBP Peter completed his apprenticeship in Wellington and has spent the past couple of years building new homes and architectural builds. “Our clients get three brains for the price of one,” Adam says. “Often in the building industry you’ve got one man in the office doing everything on their own. It’s a massive effort. At Venture Build, we are all specialists in our own areas, and we each bring all of our strengths to the same project.” Simon says national and local strategy statements have been extremely supportive of infill housing as authorities look towards growth in areas like Whanganui. “Houses are springing up in backyards more and more,” he says. “As land values increase, it becomes more viable for mums and dads to start thinking they have an opportunity add to the housing pool, whether it’s a one-off money maker or a long-term approach as a rental property, or to help their own family members on to the property ladder.” Venture Build’s comprehensive range of expertise makes it the perfect partner to renovate that existing home while new infill housing is built elsewhere on the property. Although an infill housing specialist, Venture Build is also completing new home builds from small affordable housing through to large family homes and custom architectural builds. The company has pre-designed a range of plans which maximise space on smaller sections, and can also work with clients to produce a customised design. High interest rates have slowed construction nationwide and this one-year-old business is using this quiet period to work on developing its systems and growing a really good team so it is able to scale up quickly as soon as the market picks up. Venture Build is using New Zealand designed and built project management system Rave Build which manages not only the project schedule, but also sales, clients, contractors, and build budget. Simon, Adam, and Peter have been working hard in between client projects on the renovation of their show room, office, and yard space at 139 Ridgway Street. “We’ve now got a beautiful space in a great location that is going to allow Venture Build to continue to scale up and expand in support of the development of housing in this beautiful Awa City of Whanganui.” 0274 396 567 • 2D Laser assisted Residential & Commercial Site prep • Sub divisions • All general earthwork Proudly working alongside the Venture Build team.
