The family legacy continues as Napier’s Ainsworth + Collinson is passed down to the second generation - established in 1999 the successful construction company plans to be around for at least another 26 years. Ainsworth + Collinson are now owned and run by Luke Ainsworth & Leif Collinson. “It is definitely an honour to be able to retain the family line. The business has a great reputation and we plan to keep it,” Leif said. The busy Hawkes Bay has a number of exciting builds on the go. Nestled within the picturesque Craggy Range Winery in Tuki Tuki is the firm’s latest project, a luxury lodge and accommodation. The high end four bedroom, four bathroom lodge will cover a vast footprint of 430 square metres. “Every time I drive out there it is amazing. The lodge is set into the vineyard and you look out over the Tuki Tuki River. You can see the rest of the vineyard and there are a couple of luxurious villas already there,” Leif said. “It will be very hi spec to match the rest of the vineyard. “There is a lot of detail involved, timber ceilings in what is called the great room and inbuilt joinery throughout.” The project is already underway and expected to be finished within a year. Another exciting project on the books is a 220 square metre high performance house in Te Awanga. A high performance house is designed to be super efficient and environmentally friendly with a minimal carbon footprint. “It is definitely going to be an interesting project. The design means the house doesn’t require much heating or cooling. The house is double wrapped with all the services in the middle. The home is sealed with ventilation through the roof space and the ventilation inside is from a fresh air system.
