Venture Build is a fast-growing Whanganui building company transforming the region’s residential landscape through smart subdivision, expert infill development, and bespoke design and build services. Founded in 2022 by three directors; Simon Aitken, Adam Tipper, and Peter Czerwonka - Venture Build is an experienced team specialising in urban subdivision and turnkey housing developments for property investors of every scale. “We specialise in infill and client-developer projects helping people unlock hidden land value in what they already own and delivering design, build and project manage services to property developers. That’s where we shine,” Adam says, Venture Build co-director and client manager. The company has a range of cost-effective plans to choose from ranging in size from 60 sq. metres to 141 sq. metres or bring your own initial concept. From free feasibility consultations to planning , design and construction, Venture Build can manage its entirety. Since launching with just three staff, the team has grown to fourteen, reflecting both rising demand for smarter, higher density housing and Venture Build’s ability to successfully deliver it. The company’s trio of directors bring a balance of skills with Simon’s 20 plus years of property investment and development, making him an excellent fit to be Venture Build’s infill housing and investment lead. Peter is an experienced tradesman and licensed building practitioner managing the company’s builds, and Adam brings a decade of project management experience, including five years managing high end builds in the U.K. A current example of Venture Build’s capabilities is their triplex housing development at 10 Mathieson Street. These three self-contained units under one title, replace a single aging home on a 1000 sq.mt section with three high-quality rental units: two 80sq metre 2-bedroom homes and one 1-bedroom unit. Construction features timber framing, Weathertex cladding with contrasting styles, and inter-tenancy firewalls. The homes are warm, compliant, and energy efficient. With gibbing, painting, and kitchen installation underway, the triplex is nearly rental-ready, says Adam. This triplex development shows how Venture Build can maximise the housing output of a section and still meet council requirements under higher density rules. “It’s the best bang for your buck as an Proudly working alongside the Venture Build team. 027 855 0707 • 2D Laser assisted Residential & Commercial Site prep • Sub divisions • All general earthwork investor,” says Adam. The demand is there, and the time is right to renew Whanganui’s aging urban housing stock with modern, low maintenance town housing he adds. “Mathieson Street is the company’s first triplex construction, but we have resource consent to build another, which we’ll start doing about July,” he says. Venture Build keep busy and have bought several townhouse projects to the city in recent years including three at 43 Konini Street. The original house was moved to the rear of the property and two 3-bedroom townhouses, and one 2-bedroom, were built on the 970 sq. metre section. “It didn’t seem like the most obvious place for redevelopment due to its slope and narrow width, but after some careful planning and site elevation works, we could get three new townhouses on there.” From site feasibility studies to handover, Venture Build Ltd offer a streamlined process and personal accountability.
