The expansion is expected to lead to an increase in staff numbers, from the current 40 to around 50, creating local job opportunities. “We want to give back as much as we can to the community. Supporting the community is important to us as well through sponsorship.” Complemented by distribution centres in Auckland and Christchurch, Sefton says Cleanline Tasman is well poised to continue its legacy of innovation and excellence, taking things to the next level and shaping the future of workwear and PPE solutions in New Zealand. Cleanline Tasman’s New Facility: A Beacon for Sustainability in Workwear While Cleanline Tasman’s new Connett Road facility in New Plymouth is a testament to the company’s growth and commitment to efficiency, it also serves as a showcase for its unwavering dedication to sustainability. “We are constantly working to improve on our entire eco-system to make sure we are doing our best when it comes to sustainability and environmental innovation opportunities,” explains Cleanline Tasman general manager Sefton Judd. He says Cleanline Tasman views sustainability as a holistic concept that encompasses both environmental and social aspects. The strategy revolves around consistent improvement in both areas, aligning with the belief that small acts can transform the world. The company’s sustainable vision includes actively decreasing waste to landfill, increasing product life cycles, and committing to on-going improvement to promote a sustainable culture for future generations. Sefton says the new Connett Road facility reflects this commitment to environmental sustainability and the building is designed with low power consumption in mind, featuring LED lighting, proposed solar energy harvesting and other energy-efficient measures. Cleanline Tasman is also reviewing its vehicle fleet, exploring hybrid and electric options to reduce its carbon footprint. But the most important part of the company’s dedication is in its product range, with an emphasis on creating items with longer life cycles. From packaging through to power consumption, every aspect of the business is under scrutiny to ensure alignment with our sustainability goals, says Sefton. The company constantly works on incorporating sustainable materials into its diverse product range. This includes workwear made from cellulose and garments made from recycled PET/cotton hybrid materials. Additionally, the company provides items with entirely recycled plastic compositions derived from plastic bottles, encouraging customers to choose sustainable options. Textile waste is of significant concern globally, and Cleanline Tasman aims to address this issue responsibly as well. The company is keen on ensuring that its products, particularly at the end of their life, can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. It has initiated a PPE recycling program involving dedicated collection of PPE/uniform items at the end of their life, followed by repurposing fabrics and plastics into new items such as cotton filling, insulation, and construction materials. The goal is to redirect 80% of garments from landfill to a second lifecycle by 2025. The social dimension of sustainability is equally vital to Cleanline Tasman. The company is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and encouraging workplace culture. Stakeholders are valued, and Cleanline Tasman insists on a healthy work-life balance for all employees. Furthermore, the company insists on a sustainable and ethical supply chain from its suppliers, which are independently audited, ensuring that products meet local and international standards of ethics and sustainability. This involves inspecting not only factories and practices but also the product itself, from raw fabric composition to finished merchandise. Cleanline Tasman has set short-term and long-term goals that focus on both environmental and social practices, shaping the future of Cleanline Tasman as a sustainably minded business. “We believe it is important to share our progress so not only we live the change, but encourage the change in others also.” Denis - 021 397 399 • denis@deniswheeler.co.nz Brett - 027 384 0620 • brett@deniswheeler.co.nz Office - 06 759 9919 • admin@deniswheeler.co.nz Depot - 87 Corbett Rd, Bell Block, New Plymouth PROFESSIONAL EARTHMOVING CONTRACTORS | · Excavators - 25T, 14T, 13T, 8T, 5T, 3.5T, 1.7T · Earthmoving · Bobcat Work · Transporting · Cartage · Land Clearing · Site Levelling · Demolition · Rock Work · Drilling · Digging Disposal · Bulldozing · Landscaping · Farm Work Srmmloqekc Chris Bell Construction & Cleanline Tasman tttҼk`tq`^dҼ^lҼkx | 0800 728 662 L`[_`op ek A[qdollj C`peck
