| 73 Cameron Builders Coming through the front door into a light, transparent, and open living space, the surrounding landscape reappears, framed by large windows and sliding doors. BUILDING Scott Tither of West Coast Plumbing is fairly used to the challenging builds that tend to come with most of the jobs he does for Cameron Builders, but this Round House was one out of the box even for him. “A dodecagon is pretty di erent,” he says. “It was a bit of a challenge but it all came together really well.” West Coast Plumbing provided all of the plumbing, drainage, and gas itting for this exceptional new home, which under Kāpiti Coast District Council rules includes a rainwater collection tank to feed hose taps and toilets. Pre-slab stage was a confusing time with a segmented slab in 12 pieces. “It was hard to work out which end was which.” But the job progressed smoothly like all Cameron Builders’ projects. Scott says Duane is an excellent, well-organised partner who provides his subtrades with all the information they need to complete a job well done. And that’s exactly how Scott likes to work. “A job has to be done right the irst time, and how we would want our own house to look,” he says. “There are not short cuts, everything is done to a high standard.” West Coast Plumbing is a 12-year-old business and Scott himself has worked in plumbing, drainage, and gas itting for more than 20 years. His company provides plumbing, drain laying, and gas itting services to “Done right the first time”−Quality service from West Coast Plumbing highly respected local building company clients and recurring domestic clients, as well as commercial and residential plumbing, gas itting, and drainage requirements for new builds. Scott has a real passion for civil drainage and West Coast Plumbing is well-resourced to provide civil drainage for a number of new subdivisions around the Kāpiti Coast, as well as infrastructure connections and maintenance for Kāpiti Coast District Council. “We have great relationships with our clients, vendors, suppliers, and local council, allowing us to always ind a way to get the job done and to the highest quality,” he says. ”For drainage jobs we work closely with local council and engineers, and we often re-design plans to provide an easier and more cost-e ective drainage solution at the quotation stage of a job.” In the early days West Coast Plumbing would travel into Wellington for work, but more recently has been kept busy at home in Kāpiti, with most projects won by word of mouth. Scott loves working in Kāpiti, where everyone knows everyone, no-one treads on anyone else’s toes, and are more than willing to lend a hand where needed to get a job inished. 021 524 545 www.westcoastplumbing.co.nz scott@westcoastplumbing.co.nz Locally Owned & Operated West Coast Plumbing Limited is a Kapiti locally owned and operated business since 2011.
