70 | Stunning site for subdivision Stage 2 of the 62-lot development is due for release soon with 45 lots available ranging from 500sqm to over 2000sqm. T T from page 68 Anderson Park DEVELOPMENT “That’s about a three or four minute drive and you’re on your way into Welly.” The homes were between $1m to $1.5m once completed. Developments like Anderson Park were important as the Kapiti Coast was a growing area. He said the growth was coming from the great Wellington area, including the Manawatu, Hutt Valley and Wellington city. Harcourts will have an office onsite in April that will be open during the weekends and at times during the week. Anderson Park was right in the middle of thriving wetland and was “just a joy” to be in, Eddie said. The land was orginally owned by wellknown local man, Will Field, who became the first to settle land in the Ngarara Survey District. He owned the land Anderson Park occupies for many years, until his death in 1944. Since then, the land has changed substantially and has been used in many ways. The development is owned by Waikanae-based company Amnico that also owns commercial properties in Waikanae, Paraparaumu, and Palmerston North. They have established residential subdivisions in Waikanae, Otaki Beach, and Napier, and, in conjunction with Anderson Park, are currently in the planning stages of Te Pare o Matangi, a new sub-division in Otaki. The Kapiti Coast is a 20-kilometre stretch of coastline near that is well known for its world-renowned bird sanctuary, Kapiti Island. There are sandy beaches and a number of reserves and parks that Eddie says makes it a “little stretch of coastline a slice of paradise”.
