Asked whether Cyclone Gabrielle wrecked any havoc on business Scott says the company has been doing OK throughout but he is aware of the impact it has had on customers who are now reviewing their decision to perhaps invest in a new truck or whether to pause and see what the next six months brings. Asked why Isuzu is the brand of choice to sell Scott says it’s track-record here is very positive. “Russell chose to stay with Isuzu for good reasons. It covers such a large range, suited to a wide number of uses. Isuzu also offers the highest horse-power Japaneese truck available and returns a great reliable product for your buck. “If someone wants economy and power, we have that.” The loyal customer base is something the business really values. Scott says a large percentage of customers have been traditional older Hawkes Bay family businesses, who tend to remain loyal to the brand and the business relationship. There’s also something, he says, to be said for Hawke’s Bay businesses wanting to deal with Hawke’s Bay businesses. “You often find in the regions that there’s this loyalty to help support each other.
