When you are only trying to remove the bad product in the line and have 90% mechanical accuracy, for example, you are still leaving 10% bad product, which limits maximum performance. “But when you positively select you flip the situation and can achieve very high accuracy in the good product. “The KATO 260 allows the industry to continue to operate economically with lower quality input product, caused by bad weather events for example. “It also means labour can be redirected to other areas of the operation allowing people to be more efficient and process a higher amount in a given shift. “It’s also allowed customer to reach markets they hadn’t reached before as the quality requirements were higher than they had been able to achieve with other equipment. With the KATO 260 you can unlock premium markets even in a tough season.” Spectrim is TOMRA’s large fruit inspection product.
