We had started our family and moved back to the Bay where I had worked as a building inspector for the Hastings District Council, and then more latterly as a project manager.” With the support of his wife Jennifer, Josh seized the opportunity to start his own venture, and initially contracted to a weathertightness consultant, drawing up plans and managing the projects. Before long, Josh and Scope View Projects had come to the attention of a number of builders and contractors operating in Napier and Hastings and was asked to complete plans for major renovation projects for their clients. Word-of-mouth reputation has been a constant companion for Scope View Projects and the customer base along with the range and scale of projects has continued to grow. “Now we have a long list of customers that includes builders and building companies, commercial service providers, orchardists needing RSE accommodation or a cool store, right through to private home buyers. “Our core services are the design of new residential buildings and major residential alterations, right through to the commercial sector, where we also design new buildings and renovate, complete with seismic strengthening. “We can also wear different hats in that we can oversee the whole project and organise all the contractors, through to just completing the design work, but provide support to the for them, and are now project managing the build. We’re also doing designs for the renovation and seismic strengthening of their Napier offices.” When Josh drills down to what his passion for design really means he says it is the problem- solving aspect, as well as the architectural side of things with form and function at its heart. “It’s the balance between making the home look nice, but also work well for the clients who live in it. “We’re willing to undertake complex and challenging projects that others might steer away from. I love the work, and this is what I set out to do.” builder when needed, particularly when the client requests a design change. “With alteration work, you often don’t know what lies beneath the walls until the builder is on site.” Amongst a long list of projects completed by Josh and his team, is the recent design and project management of a bespoke four-bedroom, 230sqm house on a very tight and challenging site on Napier’s Bluff Hill. “We also recently completed a house design for a very large bespoke home in Central Hawke’s Bay that has a 25-metre indoor lap pool. We’re currently working with a large health and social services provider, and have just designed a new facilities building 027 2362753 www.primetilingcontractors.co.nz contact@primetilingcontractors.com • Tiling Service • Floor andWall Tiling • Waterproofing • Under Floor Heating • Residential & Commercial • Interior & Exterior Proudly supporting Scope View Projects
