Business North April 2023

| 23 REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Waipā District Council Titanium Park currently encompasses 75 hectares, in and around Hamilton Airport, most of which has been sold and developed over the last 15 years. surrounding the Airport is the Northern Precinct, which is an area of approximately 130 hectares located north-west of the Airport’s main runway. The land within the Northern Precinct is owned by Titanium Park Ltd and Rukuhia Properties Ltd who are working together to plan for the future development of the area. Forty-one hectares of the proposed Northern Precinct is currently Airport Business Zone in the Waipa District Plan, and the remaining 89ha is Rural Zone. A Plan Change application has been lodged with Waipa District Council to zone the entire proposed Northern Precinct as Airport Business Zone. “We foresee that land being developed over the next twenty years depending on demand and economic cycles,” says Mark. “WRAL is retaining fifteen to twenty hectares that is airside to our runway so that we can ensure that future development is sympathetic to aeronautical activity, or attract companies that will utilise the airport to move freight, for example. “Once fully developed, you might have close to 200 hectares of industrial commercial land, or about half the size of the suburb of Ruakura.” Building Compliance | Active & Passive Fire Protection Facilities Management | Industry Consulting Proudly supporting Waipa District Council 07 827 5104 | info@elitebc.co.nz | www.elitebc.co.nz Here at Te Miro Water: ∙ We specialise in 3 waters management & design ∙ We analyse flood hazards and manage flood risk ∙ We protect water quality ∙ We deliver resource consents Come join us!
