Scope – Total Project Partners T T Bernadette Cooney REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Whangarei end-to-end project management company, Scope – Total Project Partners, has been at the forefront of Northland’s regional development for 22 years. Scope has helped deliver numerous vital commercial and civil construction developments across Northland and the Bay of Islands. “Scope positions itself as the first port of call after a client’s ‘light bulb moment’,” says managing director Ben Tomason. “Supporting them through every stage of construction – from concept and planning to design, construction, completion and maintenance.” Scope serves a wide array of sectors, including civil and subdivision infrastructure, commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, community, and social housing. “Bringing the entire life cycle of a construction project together,” says Ben, who helps lead a team of 18 construction management professionals across Whangarei and Tauranga. Envision, plan, build, complete and maintain are their service offerings for projects of every scale. Innovation is also key, shown by Scope’s additional offer of strategic support for contractors. “We can also work with contractors to support them to run their business, offering our management expertise and strategic support, which allows contractors to focus on productivity while Scope handles tendering, client liaison, contract negotiation, and commercial management.” This innovative model has been embraced by two Northland contractors, and two in the Bay of Plenty working on a large road interchange at the Rangiuru Business Park. “Contractors in the construction space are practical by nature,” says Ben. “So, engaging us to help them set up processes and procedures keeps their focus on production, which is the money-making aspect of their business.” Scope has an impressive track record of managing high-impact projects, including the new Salvation Army premises in Kaitaia, currently under construction. Scope is project-managing the build, which will provide food bank and outreach services to the community. The development of stage 2 of the Bay of Islands Hospital for outpatient and renal care facilities, and the radiation oncology project at Whangarei Hospital, which will improve cancer treatment services, are significant healthcare developments Scope has overseen. Numerous school projects and social, health, and community housing initiatives led by local iwi are also recent developments. “We’ve provided our services to Te Hau Awhiowhio o Otangarei Trust for their transitional housing projects,” says Ben. “Plus, we’ve delivered 20 homes for the Ngāti Hine Trust in the first stage of a community housing development and set to add another 11 in stage 2.” Ben’s role as the local branch chair of the NZ Institute of Building further strengthens Scope’s influence in the industry by promoting better industry outcomes and fostering connections within the built environment. Ben says Northland is a region of opportunity with enormous potential, but greatly underutilised in terms of what the region could bring to the national economy. “The key to unlocking Northland’s development potential is getting that infrastructure in place and having the Government champion Northland in providing national infrastructure.” Proud to work with Scope and their clients in Northland to deliver inspirational and trusted design solutions www.stiffehooker.co.nz DHS Construction are proud to support Scope 09 430 0124 sarah@dhsconstruction.co.nz | www.dhsconstruction.co.nz AWARD WINNING CONSTRUCTION Excellence in Residential and Commercial Construction “Local Company Employing Local People” Commercial, Residential and Industrial Construction and Maintenance. 09 4352 457 | 9-11 Hewlett Street, Whangarei | www.bowlinggroup.co.nz Proud Supporters of Scope Painting – Demolition – Insurance Reinstatement
