The project includes significant improvements to enhance the retail experience. Jargonel is extending the premises at the rear to increase floor area, while removing a section at the front to accommodate additional car parking. The redesign also improves sight lines with neighbouring properties, including existing tenants AA Auto Centre and Resene, contributing to the area’s appeal as a retail destination. Despite the complexity of managing existing leases during the transformation, construction partner Macrennie Commercial Construction has ensured minimal disruption. “The site continues to function smoothly as stage 2 has progressed,” says Andrew. Stage 1 of the development, completed in mid-2024, transformed two units into large-format retail spaces for tenants Bed Bath & Beyond and Bargain Chemist. Andrew says the overall development continues a notable shift for the area.
