28 | Taupo: SiteCare Karen Phelps The new SiteCare facility spans two levels and boasts around 200sqm of office space and a 500sqm store on the ground storey. REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT SiteCare’s new multi -urpose facility at John Brook Crescent in Taupo is generating a lot of interest, says company general manager Scott Olsen. “It wasn’t the main intention but the design and location near the airport and State Highway one has given us a great profile. We’ve even had even had prospective employees walk in the door,” he says. The head office for the national company has been based in Taupo since its inception in 1997. Formerly in Manuka Street, that premise underwent multiple refits internally to cope with company growth over the years. The new facility spans two levels and boasts around 200sqm of office space and a 500sqm store on the ground storey making four times the store space of the previous premise and double the office space. Importantly it also includes a larger yard facility for storing the company’s growing plant plus plenty of car parking for staff and clients. Designed by local firm JT Design Architecture, the premise has a large atrium making for an impressive entrance to the building. Upstairs windows frame incredible views straight across the lake to the mountains, says Scott. Coresteel Building was the head contractor and Scott says the project has become a great example of what Coresteel can achieve. “Coresteel were fantastic to deal with right from the proposal stage so they gained trust early on. They were proactive in helping us through the project and we felt very comfortable with them,” says Scott. He says the result of the new premises is increased efficiency. “It’s had an instant impact on staff morale and happiness, creating a really enjoyable workspace. Everyone has become even more proud of where they work.” Importantly it will also provide capacity for growth and attract staff in the current labour shortage environment. Making an impressive entrance “It’s had an instant impact on staff morale and happiness, creating a really enjoyable workspace. Everyone has become even more proud of where they work.” SiteCare is a member of the Optima Investments family of companies and delivers a broad suite of services including project management, construction, industrial cleaning and liquid waste management. Scott says the company is now specialising in environmental services, an area which capitalises on the company’s reputation for innovation and offering customers a complete solution. For example dewatering and dredging are newer services and significant investment has been made in this area. All plant is fully mobile. “We have some really innovative gear that is unique to New Zealand and offers real advantages,” says Scott. “We have high capacity Mud Cat dredge equipment made in the USA and dewatering equipment by Danish company Simon Moos. We are the only ones in New Zealand licensed to purchase the Simon Moos equipment. This all gives us market leading capacity and efficiency. This equipment allows us to efficiently remove sediment and sludge from most waterways including storage dams, marinas, urban ponds, estuaries and treatment plant ponds. SiteCare can keep the sediment completely sealed from the air until it’s left site, which means no mess or odour escaping. That’s great for hard to access or urban work environments.” Scott says the company will continue to innovate to meet customers’ needs: “We describe ourselves as a ‘mini corporate’ – corporate and professional yet agile. We can make quick decisions around services and innovations to deliver what our clients are looking for. We are constantly evolving.” No.1 Floor Polisher in the Bay • Screeding & Levelling • Interior & Exterior Options
