| 41 Ribon – Good honest Kiwi ingenuity Ribon is the result of good kiwi ingenuity. When Keith Russell was installing metal roo ing in 2007 and realised there were several trades involved to install to complete an eaves application, he knew there had to be a better way. So over the following ten years he developed an integrated fascia and so it system delivered by one trade that saves time and facilitates sub-trades. Ribon Continuous Interlocking So its® is a versatile system designed for residential and commercial buildings. It consists of roll formed pre-painted metal so it panels that interlock into a propriety bracketing system. It was released to the market around four years ago and Keith says it is proving a game changer for clients such as Arvida, which is using it on Aria Bay in Auckland and Lauriston Park in Cambridge. “Ribon Continuous Interlocking So its is revolutionary as it integrates fascia, so it, spouting and downpipes into a system of the same materials all under one warranty. This system reduces sub-trade involvement, avoids delays and minimises human error, saving time and reducing onsite costs,” explains Keith. Ribon uses Colorcote Magna- low 0.55BMT zinc/aluminium/- magnesium coated pre-painted steel coil to suit buildings up to Zone D. Keith says it is a highly durable material - three times more durable than zincalume and seven times more durable than galvanised products. This means Ribon So it panels are low maintenance, easy to keep clean and have a high quality contemporary inish that adds a luxury practical feature to any building, he says. Being one system, greater accuracy is possible resulting in straighter, cleaner lines. With a wide range of 40 plus colours it is easy to co-ordinate to any client’s desired colour palette. He says that metal is also a sustainable resource that can be fully recycled at the end of its lifetime and reduces on-site waste. It is user friendly by not creating toxic hazardous pollution on-site or contributing to land ill. Ribon can also be used for internal ceilings. Keith says that commercially this has great advantages because of its easy to clean surface and sleek aesthetics. Ribon has been used in corridors of apartment buildings, showrooms and residential ceilings. Ribon manufactures, supplies and installs the BRANZ appraised product, which comes with a 10-year standard warranty. Ribon can provide additional engineering to meet wind loadings of up to 8.56KPa and seismic requirements. Ribon also supplies product to builders and provides step-by-step installation training videos on the ribon.co.nz website. “It’s a very easy system to install so any builder can do it,” says Keith. “We also provide technical support to anyone whenever they need it.” Ribon also o ers a custom QS service and quotes/tenders. It completes projects New Zealand wide and o shore. In fact Ribon is currently working on the new Papua New Guinea international airport project proving it can tackle both large and small projects. Keith says the potential for Ribon internationally means it is targeting the export market as well as looking to establish licensing deals. +64 22 641 0942 keith.russell@ribon.co.nz RibonLtd RibonLtd 2/22 Highgate Parkway, Silverdale, Auckland 0932 EFFICIENT PRACTICAL ENVIRONMENTAL
