The design guidelines have a focus on energy efficiency including north facing orientation, solar panels, thermally broken joinery and extra insulation. “Every home in Bridleways Estate has to be uniquely designed with extremely high levels of quality. That vision really appealed to me coupled with the subdivision’s focus on including sustainable features in the homes,” he explains. Daniel started his building career over two decades ago and began his own company in 2001 changing the name to Davies Homes in 2012 as the company began to specialise in new housing. An important point of difference is Daniel’s direct involvement with the design process, supported by the in-house architectural design team. This is the main factor which contributes to the company’s unique design vision, says Daniel. Each home is cleverly designed to optimise the potential of each site and the client’s unique needs, constructed to the absolute highest standards. Backed by the team’s construction experience this means clients’ budgets can be maximised. “Because we act as the designer as well as the project manager on builds we see a project through from beginning to end in-house. This saves clients time and money and results in buildable homes with a design edge,” he says. Recognising that building a home can be a stressful process if not undertaken correctly, the company also utilises an online scheduling software accessible by the clients, so people can manage the entire build of their new home tracking the progress of their project every step of the way. “People can log in online and watch the production schedule. They can see photos of their home throughout the building process and share documents to ensure everyone is literally on the same page. This means that the entire building project is transparent as they get to see exactly what’s going on ensuring communication is always clear, open and shared,” he explains. While all Davies Homes are custom designed, the company has put together a range of over 40 plans, which Daniel says form a starting point and can be customised to suit clients’ individual needs.
