Cambridge hub all set The new office has been designed as a customer-focused hub, where clients can view sections with the team, talk through designs, and explore fixtures and fittings in a hands-on environment. T T Kelly Deeks G.J. Gardner Homes Waipa has established a new design hub in the sought-after Ngaa Puna subdivision in Cambridge, positioning the business at the centre of a fast-growing commercial and residential precinct that is quickly taking shape. The new office has recently opened within a developing commercial hub that already includes hospitality operators and other businesses, with further tenancies under construction. Once complete, the precinct is expected to create a strong destination hub for the Cambridge community. Franchise owners, Simon and Dominique Paduch, say the decision to base their office in this area was driven by growth and opportunity, with surrounding subdivisions and development activity providing a steady pipeline of potential clients. “This is a growth area for us,” Dominique says. “We have the Ngaa Puna subdivision, Bridleways Estate across the road, and there is another joint venture between 3Ms and St Peter’s School coming as well. We want to be where the growth is happening.” The new office has been designed as a customer-focused hub, where clients can view sections with the team, talk through designs, and explore fixtures and fittings in a hands-on environment. The standout feature is a five-metre front window showcasing a full show kitchen, designed to draw people in as they pass by. “Our display kitchen has become a real talking point. Clients walk in and immediately start imagining what’s possible in their own homes,” Dominique says. There has been a G.J. Gardner Homes franchise operating in the Waikato region since 1997. In 2025, the Waipa franchise was established when the area was expanded to three franchises to better serve their community. The wider G.J. Gardner Homes network now includes 35 franchises nationwide, providing support, systems, and collaboration opportunities across the group. “We have been really well supported by G.J. Gardner Homes,” Dominique says. “Not only do we have head office backing, but also support from other franchisees across the country. “Everyone has been really helpful in getting us up and running.” Simon has long had a passion for building and development, having previously worked for G.J .Gardner Homes in Tauranga, before moving into the franchise model. Dominique brings experience from the not-for-profit sector, including working with G.J. Gardner Homes while managing corporate partnerships at Ronald McDonald House, giving the Waipa franchise a mix of industry and relationship expertise. The two say the move into franchising was a deliberate step towards ownership, backed by long-term familiarity with the brand and its systems. Despite challenging market conditions over the past year, G.J. Gardner Homes Waipa has focused heavily on creating a guided and supportive client journey, helping customers navigate what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process, with ease. “We have focused on the fundamentals – being visible in the community, building relationships, and consistently delivering a great customer experience.” That approach has already delivered results, with the franchise signing 22 build contracts in its first 11 months of operation. 92 Bruce Berquist Drive, Te Awamutu office@ntjoinery.co.nz NT Joinery is proud to support P: 07 871 6188
