And spokesperson for the developers, Richard Cashmore, hopes it will become a key part of helping to revitalise Tauranga’s town centre. Two Devonport Road will become the head office for one of New Zealand’s leading investment advisory firms Craigs Investment Partners. When it was looking to move to a more high profile site it kick started the development of Two Devonport Road Limited, a partnership initiated to build the seven floor commercial building. Richard, chairperson of the group that developed the ANZ Centre in Tauranga who has over 50 years experience in the real estate industry, is one of the project leads for the 1100sqm building that has been in process for a number of years. Initially the site was earmarked for a hotel development then Covid-19 hit and put an end to that plan. When Craigs Investment Partners was seeking new premises it proved the perfect fit for the site. Tauranga locals will remember the site as it once housed the Westpac bank. Richard says it’s been a big demolition project to remove the existing dated six storey building, which has taken around a year. Central Demolition has undertaken this aspect of the project, which was made all the more challenging when asbestos was identified and had to be carefully removed.
