Tilemax delivers! Quality and Passion at Tilemax Ask Stacey Arnold what prompted him to buy Tilemax Tauranga his answer says it all: “I just love the whole industry. I’ve been a tiler for most of my adult life and I just really like tiles. They’re such a creative medium and they can work magic on walls and floors, transforming the look and feel of the space.” With a team of six Stacey says the past few months he’s been at the helm have been busy and exciting. He puts the success of the business down to top service, and the quality of advice and support customers, be they tradees or home-owners receive from those working front of house in the shop and the boys in the warehouse. “We simply couldn't do what we do without the passionate crew we have. They are just awesome, so full of knowledge. We sometimes have interior designers come in with colour samples and soft furnishings and they receive lots of tile suggestions and options to consider. It’s all part of our service.” Stacey says the whole industry is taking off as new technologies are discovered and literally limitless tile options become available. And a big part of the businesses growth has come down to establishing long-term supply relationships with group home companies such as Barrett Homes Bay of Plenty. “It’s a relationship that works very well. We understand the high standards they build to and we’re there to advise them on tile options to really create exciting design elements in their homes. We hold a tremendous amount of tiles in stock so they know we will have tiles available for them at the quantities they need.” Stacey says he considers quality tiles to be a real investment, adding intrinsic value to a home or in any situation for years to come. “The quality of our tiles will shine through for years and years.” Tiles are sourced from all over the world, particularly Brazil, Italy and some from China and a smattering from Australia as well, so there’s plenty of choice for buyers. Helping customers who aren’t quite sure of what they want is something Stacey and the team really enjoy. every step of the way supporting our customers with options and ideas. We use software to assimilate what a particular tile and pattern will look like, which is really helpful.” Being locally owned and operated is important to Stacey as well. “It’s the best of both worlds because we are part of this community and yet we have the reach and support of the nationwide franchise network.” Located in MacDonald Street, Mt Maunganui, Stacey says he predicts that one day the store will outgrow its current situation. “Please just pop into our store or we’re just a phone call away with a world of advice and options to offer.”
