Refrigerants have evolved, and the industry is always pushing forward. One of Kevin’s biggest issues in the water heating marketplace is there is no regulation. “Being an unregulated industry, anyone can basically say what they want. If they want their heat pump to be better than others, they simply test their equipment in more favourable conditions. They are not obliged to reveal those conditions to the customer, and there is no one to test those claims. Some competition heat pump water heaters produce up to 30% less capacity than what is stated when tested alongside our units. It’s not uncommon for an end user to believe they are getting a good deal, a much larger unit for a cheaper price, when they actually paid more for a smaller or less ef cient machine.” Kevin would like to pay tribute to Frontier Pools owner Neil Runciman, who always made sure his customers got the best quality products and services. “Neil was a tough but honest customer who would keep us on our toes. He was straight up with us and we were straight up with him.
