Since 2007 it has been delivering award-winning residential and commercial projects that enrich the region’s landscape. “Creating beautiful architecture that enhances lives is at the heart of everything we do at LAD,” says Aaron Guerin, the practice director and principal architectural designer. “We work closely with our clients to create thoughtful design solutions that respond to their needs, now and well into the future.” Based in Cambridge and with a satellite office in Waihi Beach, LAD is able to service the growing needs in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions and New Zealand as a whole. The practice specialises in original, contemporary and traditional architecture while staying true to the clients’ context, budget, and brief. The team’s expertise goes beyond architecture, including an in-house interior design team, a 3D visualiser, and highly competent seniors that facilitate a comprehensive and tailored approach to each project. LAD is professional members of the Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ) and has been national winners at the ADNZ Design Awards in the past. “But our practice isn’t just about the finished result,” Aaron emphasises. “It’s about guiding our clients through an enjoyable process, offering 3D visualisations to envision the final product and fostering strong relationships with clients, local builders and consultants.” Aaron brings over 30 years design experience to the table. He thrives on challenges and is passionate about delivering quality architecture, collaborating closely with clients to deliver a result that is truly reflective of their personality and lifestyle. Partner Charlotte Martin is also a company director and office manager. Her focus is on ensuring that clients receive excellent service and architectural design advice. She also creates a professional office environment where clients feel relaxed and comfortable discussing their design dreams. Aaron’s positivity about the district’s growth is palpable. He notes the rise in subdivision work happening, calling it an exciting time for Waipa. “The councils are opening up growth cells to meet the need for housing,” he says. “Waipa’s appeal lies in its affordability compared to some larger centres, drawing people with its sporting amenities, outdoor opportunities, and the promise of work-life balance. The district’s population is expected to surge by 2050, with an anticipated addition of 25,000 people, positioning Waipa as a thriving hub in the region.” Aaron says that areas such as Waihi Beach are also surging in popularity due to its proximity to major centres and ease of access. “There are older seafront homes at Waihi Beach that people are removing and replacing with new builds. We are currently undertaking a large-scale renovation project there and have recently completed a large contemporary home on a challenging, sloping site. We had to excavate the site, build extensive retaining and design the home over multiple levels to comply with council rules.” Beautifully Designed Fireplaces for Ultimate Comfort PROUDLY SUPPORTING LAD ARCHITECTURE 027 280 7100 info@fireandliving.co.nz www.fireandliving.co.nz
