| 139 Tooth Fairy Dental: Totara Construction New dental clinic with a ‘beachy’ feel Tooth Fairy Dental has been steadily growing since it opened, and its Mt Maunganui clinic has reached capacity. T T Kelly Deeks COMMUNITY Tooth Fairy Dental has been bringing healthy smiles to the Bay of Plenty since 2001, and with its caring and professional approach has now outgrown its Mt Maunganui clinic and is set to shift to brand-new local premises. Tooth Fairy Dental has been steadily growing since it opened, and its Mt Maunganui clinic has reached capacity. Its newest clinics in Bethlehem and Papamoa are now also really close to capacity, so this new clinic at 2 Kupe Ave will provide a convenient in-between location to capture the overflow. Owner Dr Dale Benic says it’s a high-visibility site and a great find for Tooth Fairy Dental, considering the scarcity of available commercial land in the Mount. Tooth Fairy Dental uses some of the most up-to-date dental technology and this is an area Dale says is growing quickly and continually. The new Mt Maunganui premises present an ideal opportunity to create more space to bring in some of the latest advancements in dental technology. “We’ve been in the same Mt Maunganui location since we purchased the business in 2016,” he says. “Our new premises means we can have the required amount of space for all of the new equipment that wasn’t even around eight years ago.” As well as six additional treatment rooms and extra office spaces for administration staff, the new building will be fitted with a 3D X-ray machine, a 3D printer for dental appliances like dentures, bite guards, and implant guides, and a milling machine and furnace to make in-house ceramic crowns and bridges. The clinic, designed by Carnachan Architcture and built by Totara Construction, is designed fit for both purpose and location with a ‘beachy’, non-clinical style. “We’ve got a lot of timber in there for that warm and comfortable feel. Our facade is going to be timber battens on a curved steel frame, and on the interior the timber flows through and we have lots of lovely planting as well. It’s a very different space to the scary and institutional dental clinics of old,” Dale says. The construction programme is going well and the build is currently sitting ahead of schedule and due for completion mid-2025. Tooth Fairy Dental has grown thanks to its quality service, fair prices, and commitment to keeping up to date with technology. The team of professional and highly trained dentists work in locally owned and operated clinics at Mt Maunganui, Bethlehem, Papamoa, and Te Puke. They offer the complete range of general and specialised dental-care services and are committed to providing exceptional dental care to all of their clients, whatever their requirements. Dale and the team know that visits to the dentist can be stressful for their clients, so they have made themselves expert in making every appointment as pleasant as possible, with a calm and professional approach, and a readiness to go the extra mile. “We are always ready to discuss any special dental needs, or nerves, to make sure our clients are properly catered for.” It’s our pleasure to help The Tooth Fairy navigate their construction legal needs for their new premises, so they can keep working on your beautiful smile.
