LEISURE Tasman Holiday Parks General manager of Tasman Holiday Parks New Zealand David Aflallo says he was tapped on the shoulder to take up the role, something he describes as a real privilege. “Tasman Holiday Parks has a wonderful vision and philosophy around providing guests at their parks, across Australia and New Zealand, with second-to-none experiences, championing the regions they operate in. It’s a completely different approach to the way most holiday parks operate, and it’s something we are enormously proud of,” David explains. Tasman Holiday Parks - New Zealand has 10 holiday parks, each one uniquely reflecting its own environment, but all sharing the common goal to provide guests with an abundance of wonderful experiences from the moment they arrive. Gone are the days, David says, where holiday park visitors book in and basically are left to their own devices. Tasman Holiday Parks provide their visitors with opportunities to celebrate the parks’ natural environment and the idyllic location the park is situated in. “We want our guests to really feel they have every opportunity to see and experience what makes each park and the community it operates in really special. We call it the ‘Tasman Promise’.” The Tasman Promise is built on four pillars: creating fully planned holiday parks, based in inspiring locations, offering a safe, clean and friendly environment for guests and staff, and creating beautiful memories. “We’re all about offering unique experiences so our guests leave with lifelong memories that they built during their stay with us.” At Waihi Beach, Tasman Holiday Parks operates two parks – Beachaven and Waihi Beach, and at this year’s Katikati/Waihi Beach Community Business Awards, both these parks were nominated as finalists, something David says is especially wonderful. “I think having both parks in the awards is an absolute tribute to the dedication of all the staff working at these parks and the value the parks bring to the community. “More than simply operating as a destination, these parks are very much part of the Waihi Beach community. They often support initiatives in the town.” David also strives to engage in-person with each holiday park’s management team. “We’ve got a really great structure and business model, in that all our park managers have the opportunity to upskill and develop themselves and their teams. Our aim always is for those working at our parks to enjoy every moment and feel part of something greater.” Beyond the two parks situated at Waihi Beach, Tasman Holiday Parks can also be found in Papamoa, Coromandel, Miranda, Ohiwa, and Rotorua, in the North Island, and Christchurch, Picton and Te Anau in the South Island. “I would encourage anyone who wants to really have a rich experience while enjoying camping, staying in a caravan or motor home, or in one of our units, to consider Tasman Holiday Parks as a great destination. You’ll certainly leave with incredible memories of your time staying with us.”
