Established in 1998 by brothers Mike, Tony, Tim and Simon Ross, C&R Developments has grown to employ over 200 staff while maintaining its family-owned ethos. Having learned the trade from their parents’ company, Baker Construction, the brothers have a connection to earthmoving that runs deep. Together, they have many years of experience in earthmoving, and their handson approach means that when customers deal with them, they deal with the owners of the business. “Moving dirt is the only thing we know how to do. From playing in the sand-pit as young fellas and then our parents instilling the business in us from a young age from their company Baker Construction,” explains Simon. This family-centred approach has translated into long-term relationships with both clients and employees. Many staff members have spent their entire careers with the company, some joining straight from school. “This takes the pressure off us, having great people involved,” says Simon.
