The fleet ranges from five-tonne to 200-tonne machines, allowing the company to tackle projects of any scale. The aim is to keep most things in-house, particularly machinery maintenance at its comprehensive workshop in Hautapu, Cambridge, which has helped it to stay competitive in an increasingly challenging market. The company’s commitment to excellence extends to stringent health and safety protocols and environmental standards, which have earned C&R Developments recognition in the industry. The company’s service offering spans civil contracting, roading, major subdivisions, quarrying and mining, overburden removal and transporter services. Its in-house heavy haulage transportation department equipped with five Kenworth prime movers and transportation trailers ranging from 25 to 96 tonnes, provides additional flexibility for project delivery. “A lot of our work is repeat business, work for quarrying companies and mining, anything requiring bulk or civil earthworks,” explains Simon. Currently C&R Developments is involved in several major projects across the North Island, including Project REWA, the new inland port development at Ruakura, Hamilton, where it is collaborating with Tainui Group Holdings. It is also undertaking significant works at multiple quarries, including the three largest quarries in Auckland, and a number of quarries in the upper and central North Island. While primarily operating in the North Island, C&R Developments has demonstrated its capability to work nationwide, recently completing stage one of the Lyttelton Port reclamation project in the South Island. This project, undertaken as a joint venture with Heron Construction, involved dredging five hectares of seabed and replacing it with 3.5 million tons of selected aggregate material. Simon says that C&R Developments continues to invest in its future, regularly updating its machinery fleet and embracing new technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy. However, the core family values remain unchanged. “When clients work with C&R Developments they deal directly with the owners of the business, ensuring clear communication and quick decision-making. With over 60 years’ experience and expertise in all the earthworks and plant management fields, we take immense pride in the quality of our workmanship and consistently deliver the best value for each project.” He says the Ross brothers’ hands-on approach and commitment to maintaining family ownership has created a business model that combines the personal touch of a family business with the capabilities of a major contractor. This unique position in the market continues to serve the family well as they take on increasingly complex and challenging projects across New Zealand. “It’s a combination that has proven successful for over two decades, and positions C&R Developments well for future growth in New Zealand’s civil construction sector.” 40 Carlton Street, Te Awamutu PHONE 07 871 5242 EMAIL teawamuturadiators@xtra.co.nz PETER WILKINSON - Manager 021 917 413 | peter@wtel.co.nz 12 Albert Street, Cambridge 3434 P.O.
