Action Manufacturing produced Australasia’s first electric ambulance, and Brooke says this move to equip vehicles with electric energy is part of the company’s goal to be at the forefront of increasingly harnessing sustainable technologies. “We love nothing more than a challenge to design, build, and fit out a vehicle absolutely fit-for-purpose.,” says Brooke. “We excel in problem-solving to arrive at exactly what our customers need to operate successfully.” On the sustainability front, Brooke says much time has been spent breaking down all the processes and activities Action Manufacturing does, beginning with the development of a five-year sustainability plan, documenting goals like converting the company’s sales cars to electric power, shifting to electric forklifts and re-purposing off-cuts to reduce waste. “Our community contribution, the Fairfield Project, is an ongoing commitment to planting trees at Fairfield College,” says Brooke. “This initiative has been underway for two years now, and staff enjoy time away from work getting their hands in the soil helping grow a plantation of trees that will be a lasting legacy in the area.” Building motorhomes for parent company THL, which owns iconic brands such as Maui, Britz and Apollo, is a core activity at Action Manufacturing, with upward of 1000 vehicles assembled and fitted out annually.
