Taking care of the community and those along the corridor is a main focus of the CRJV: “We’ve got a range of businesses, services and residents along Cameron Road and building new infrastructure like this takes time. We know we’re disruptive and a lot of the work is happening underground, so it can look like we’re not making progress at times,” says Dave. “When people can’t see what’s happening, they can wonder why the job is not getting done quicker. There’s also the issue that you don’t always find what you expect to when you dig up the ground, and then there are weather impacts we can’t control. “It’s important for the CRJV to communicate with the stakeholders and let them know what is involved to build a job like this. “We have to take people on a journey with us, while also listening and adapting to people’s needs when we can.” Ensuring the success of the joint venture has involved a high level of trust by all parties. “We’ve established a great partnership and hope to carry it on for the next stage.”
