Certified to CC3 under the SCNZ’s Steel Fabricator Certification scheme, it is recognised for its stringent approach to health and safety, quality and doing whatever it takes to finish projects safely and on time. GGE operates from its purpose built premises in Papakura where it has the capacity to manufacture over four hundred tonnes of fabricated steel per month. It offers a painting division, blasting bay and a dedicated drafting division employing detailers who complete all the shop drawings. It also has its own range of dedicated plant including Trombone truck trailers, scissor lifts, cherry pickers and mobile cranes. There is also a range of overhead cranes in the workshop enabling staff to easily move product around to complete each stage of the process considerably speeding up production time and capabilities. This is complemented by the company’s stringent quality assurance program and comprehensive safety policy for both factory and on site. Central to the company’s ethos is the concept of ‘lean manufacturing’, which encompasses every aspect of GGE’s offering, concentrating on quality and service by eliminating unnecessary cost and time wastage. It is also heavily focused on operating sustainably and GGE has an integrated environmental management system accredited to OHSAS 14001 standards and also has Sustainable Steel Certification. The team is another key differentiator. Many of the company’s approximately 70 staff has been with the company from the beginning. Janani thinks this loyalty and commitment manifests in the quality of work produced. “With expertise across all key manufacturing processes, from drafting through to fabrication and installation, we aim to exceed our clients’ quality, value and service expectations. “Our vision is to be New Zealand’s premier specialists in steel construction and we pride ourselves on being small enough to remain agile yet still have the capability and capacity to compete for the big projects. We want to strive to grow better, not bigger.”
