Located in Arawai Terrace, Papakura, South Auckland, the 186sqm home boasts design, street appeal and great workmanship. “Having everyone on board is key to producing a high quality result and to ensure that everything is to Legendary Homes’ expectations,” he says. Designed by SK Designs, Legendary Homes built all seven homes in Arawai Terrace and each one is different. The award winning home is clad in cedar with rendered brick cladding giving it a distinct design edge. Inside, high ceilings give a spacious feel to the home, which includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a study nook. Shijie says that great care was taken to consider the position of the house on site and also thinking about who the end user would be to ensure the design matched the desired outcome. Legendary Homes also won silver in the GIB Show Home category. Shijie says that the four-bedroom Milldale home has been designed with first-home buyers in mind, and to also showcase the high standard of build that is possible within a modest budget. Clad in classic white weatherboard with a touch of schist the home boasts wraparound decking giving an abundance of outdoor entertaining space. The layout of the kitchen, dining and living areas has been carefully considered to maximise both functionality and a contemporary aesthetic. Shijie says that the show home also demonstrates possible upgrade options such as hardwood floors and designer kitchen. In 2020 the company won the volume/group housing new home $450,000 - $750,000 national category and Shijie says this demonstrates the consistently high levels of quality his company achieves. Shijie started Legendary Homes in 2013. The company focuses exclusively on spec builds and house and land packages. Shijie says the aim is to ensure clients have a hassle-free building experience and are always delivered a high quality product. He says that Legendary Homes typically offers a higher spec than usual including doors of at least 2.1 metres in height and fully tiled bathrooms as standard. The Legendary Homes’ process means that it can keep good control of time frame, building to the client’s budget. In a tight market where supply chain disruption has become the norm during the pandemic strong relationships with contractors and suppliers is key. Legendary Homes’ focus on long term trusted business relationships has stood it in good stead. “Having everyone on board is key to producing a high quality result and to ensure that everything is to Legendary Homes’ expectations.” “Legendary Homes works with dedicated local trade partners who share our commitment to build homes with a fully collaborative spirit and dedication. We don’t just build houses, we build homes.” Legendary Homes currently has a number of builds underway around Auckland and focuses on the south, west and north parts of the city. Shijie says that in 2022 it is due to release a series of duplexes to the market in Huapai Triangle and people are welcome to register their interest early, as demand is certain to be high.
