T T to page 108 LIFESTYLE Ryman Healthcare: Patrick Hogan Retirement Village Ryman Healthcare’s new Patrick Hogan Retirement Village is taking shape, promising a unique living experience rooted in the principles of innovation, care and community. While still under construction, the village already hosts a handful of residents, offering a glimpse into what will soon become a haven for over 350 individuals. Situated on 8.6 hectares on Cambridge Road to the west of town, Ryman Healthcare’s General Manager Northern Sales - New Zealand Simon Jantke, says the Patrick Hogan Retirement Village will feature a range of living options, including 80 care beds, 60 serviced apartments, and 185 townhouses. Plans include an indoor swimming pool and spa, library, bar, movie theatre, dining rooms, café, hair salon, and beauty therapy rooms. . Ryman Recruitment Manager – NZ Operations, Abbe King, envisions a community that employs around 150 team members, covering various roles from clinical leaders and registered nurses to caregivers, as well as kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance teams. Ryman’s reputation for providing beautiful homes and top-notch care in the Waikato region has generated significant interest in the Patrick Hogan Retirement Village. Simon notes that Cambridge will mark Ryman’s 41st retirement village in New Zealand, building upon the success of Hilda Ross and Linda Jones villages in Hamilton. Ryman’s Group Design Manager Isaac Bright says the village’s design reflects a commitment to creating a vibrant and interconnected community. Notably, the village incorporates resthome, hospital, and dementia care beds, ensuring residents have access to care if their health needs change over time. The townhouses, designed with modern aesthetics and featuring full-height windows and doors for ample natural light, are currently available for sale. Isaac says that because Ryman’s own design and construction teams contribute to the village’s creation this ensures residents’ input and needs are prioritized. The early stages of the village are already under way, with plans for additional townhouses, the main village centre, amenities, a care centre, and serviced apartments set for 2024 and 2025. Says Simon: “With a rich history of providing trusted care and a vision for the future, as Ryman Healthcare continues to expand its footprint, the Patrick Hogan Retirement Village stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to creating exceptional communities that empower residents to live life to the fullest.” WARDROBES DIRECT New Zealand’s leading Wardrobe & Sliding Door Experts!
