Master Craft Construction BUILDING Award-winning Master Builder Master Craft Construction got to put just about all of its special skills to the test on its most recent award-winning project - a brand new beachfront home for owner Jared Banks’ parents. Based in East Auckland, Master Craft Construction covers much of the wider Auckland area with all aspects of architectural building from new builds to renovations. Its close-knit team of hard-working builders have a wide range of experience with highly detailed architectural builds in masonry, precast panels, in-situ concrete, and traditional timber frame. “We love the challenges that come with complicated projects and strive to deliver the best quality craftsmanship possible,” Jared says. Master Craft Construction has previously entered the Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition in 2020 and brought home the Regional Category, Regional Gold, and Top 100 awards for a renovation $500,000 to $1 million. This year Master Craft Construction brought home the same three awards in the New Home $1.5 million to $2 million category for Jared’s parents’ home, where the use of these three textures, timber, steel, and concrete, has been brought together for impressive effect. It’s the unexpected mix of materials that defines the character of this seaside home. Outside, timber and weathered steel complement precast concrete panels, while inside, more concrete is offset with warm timber accents, crisp white ceilings, and dramatic tiles. Designed to maximise site space, daylight, and water views, this home captures them all with a sunny front deck and large windows in the main bedroom upstairs looking straight out across the sea. The precast Litecrete tilt slab panels provided both challenge and highlight for the Master Craft Construction team on this project. 09 948 4989 | 021 198 8997 | INFO@CUBE-S.CO.NZ www.elitebathroomware.co.nz 09 274 7030 59 Allens Road, East Tamaki, Auckland “Limited site space, a raised floor level due to council requirements, full height masonry tilt panels, and two concrete floors made for a challenging build process,” Jared says. “The tilt panels landed directly on the foundations, and the first-floor slab was what locked these panels in place. This meant that panel props holding the tilt panels upright couldn’t be removed until after the first-floor slab was poured, and we had to prop from inside the building because of the tight site.” On the flip side, the panels went up quickly, they required no cladding, strapping, or lining inside, and their R-value is so high they don’t require additional insulation. “I’ve worked with tilt panels in the past but none of my boys have, so it was something new for them which keeps things interesting.” Master Craft Construction has making excellence a tradition and not just an objective. Jared and the team take a huge amount of pride in their House of the Year track record as their numerous awards solidify their reputation as construction industry leaders. “Our consistent success in the House of the Year awards reflects our unwavering dedication to raising the bar in the construction industry,” Jared says. “With our team of skilled builders, we’re committed to delivering projects that not only meet but exceed the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. When you choose Master Craft Construction, you’re choosing a legacy of excellence, proven by our award-winning projects.”
