Now a third-generation family-owned business, teamwork has always been at the heart of the business. “For 55 years we’ve been helping create spaces that people love to be in,” says DuCo general manager Charlie Brewer. “From our family-owned workshop in the Waikato, our expert team design, manufacture, and install premium quality joinery and accessories throughout the North Island.” DuCo has serviced hundreds of residential and commercial projects across the Central North Island, working with builders, homeowners, and commercial developers to supply joinery of all specifications, and has learned over the years that everything is better connected - from the deep care the company takes in manufacturing, to the clear communication its customers need to achieve their project goals. When the company began in 1968, it manufactured timber joinery. Since then, aluminium has replaced timber, and our services have expanded to include design specifications, installation, and more. “With this in mind, we felt the term ‘joinery’ no longer reflected our full range of services. DuCo’s future plans include more than just windows and doors. While DuCo will continue manufacturing its signature aluminium joinery, the company has considered expanding its scope to include new products and services to support the needs of its clients. “So we decided to remove the term ‘joinery’ from our brand name, allowing us to broaden our offering.” Derived from the words “Duo” and “Company”, the new name DuCo stems from the idea that everything is better connected. “After all, the strength of a relationship between two people is the driving force of their success.” For DuCo, that means coming together with clients to achieve a better outcome in their residential or commercial projects. The new name also speaks to the Brewer family heritage, where two brothers came together to form Brewer Joinery.
